Advancing maternal age, especially after the age of 35, is associated with a continual decline in fertility potential. Recently, sophisticated techniques have been refined that make cryopreservation (freezing) of oocytes (eggs) a safe and efficacious method of pursuing fertility preservation in relatively young women.
